A PROPOSAL FOR A NEW MODEL OF PHYSICAL REALITY
The behavior of the mass has been deduced in the SR on the base of the transformation equations of Lorentz, obtained by analyzing the linear propagation of a beam of light. The behaviour of the electrical field, instead, seems to be consistent with a set of transformation equations equivalent to Lorentz’, but expressed in a different form, as they have been obtained by analysing the omnidirectional propagation of a beam of light. These relations show that motion modifies the space-time by “generating” a spatial component normal to the motion itself. They are expressed in a mathematical form which force us to abandon the traditional concept of the space-time as a “container”, however defined, of physical reality and suggests a totally new conception: that of considering the real space-time as a field of the mass, coincident with the gravitational field.
This hypothesis is sufficient by itself to justify the equilibrium in the atoms and also the existence of positive and negative fields of the same order of magnitude of the electrical field, without the need of any other entity or force, in addition to mass and gravity. It also explains in a rational way the structure and nature of the light quanta.
All physical reality, then, could be explained by the existence of a unique Entity, with three different aspects, mass, space and time.
Geology is not able, yet, to give an explanation for these recurrent crises; there are, of course, several hypothesis, but no certitudes. Many of the geological phenomena often occur at the same time, and therefore a relation of cause-effect has been suggested between them, but it’s not always clear which is the cause and which the effect.
In the last few years the idea that mass extinctions are the result of catastrophic impacts of asteroids or comets is taking ground, as for some of them the coincidence with the impact of a large asteroid has been ascertained.
It should be noted, however, that simultaneity has been ascertained also between mass extinctions and other geological phenomena, like volcanism, cooling, warming, regressions, transgressions and so on, which are maintained by many scientists as responsible for mass extinctions of species. But nobody was able to explain convincingly how such phenomena, whether alone or combined, could have provoked world-wide ecological catastrophes, both on land and on the oceans.
Above all, nobody was able to explain which was the ultimate cause of all these phenomena: because there must be something that triggers the recurrent geological crisis. The thesis that I am going to propose in the present work is that all these crisis are started by sudden shift of the poles, triggered by impacts on Earth of asteroids and comets.

In 1974 a young Italian naval engineer, Flavio Barbiero, published a ground-breaking book, Una Civilta sotto Ghiaccio (A Civilisation Under the Ice)
which proposed for the first time that the remains of a lost civilisation
may lie under the ice of Antarctica. He suggested that there had been a
cataclysmic and almost instantaneous pole shift which had moved Antarctica
from temperate into frozen latitudes – a suggestion that has never
been accepted by science. In this paper Barbiero explains why he continues to be convinced that instantaneous pole shifts can and do occur
– with devastation consequences for all life on earth.
